    DESCRIPTION

    Welcome to the Laughing Forest

    The Laughing Forest is a resort on the KwaZulu Natal (KZN) south coast which offers self catering accommodation, a wedding venue, and several other facilities to make your time with us as pleasant and enjoyable as possible.

    Nestled amongst coastal dune forest, we have created a personalised home environment for each log cabin. The 6 acre property is home to mpete buck, a variety of birds, monkeys and other wild life and is situated in Elysium, which is halfway between Durban and Margate.

    Elysium beach is private (very private), and clean. Tidal pools are situated east and west of our location within easy walking distance and also at low tide in front of our beach entrance.

    RECEPTION HALL

    Our Reception hall can cater for 150 people, and we have 8 self-catering log cabins that your guests can book into, to either make it into a weekend getaway, or just for the night so they can party and dance the night away, and not worry about driving home. If you have a larger wedding party, we can arrange for the reception to take place under a marquee in one of our lovely gardens.

    CHAPEL

    The Laughing Forest currently provides indoor, beach, and garden options for your wedding ceremony:

    We have several beautiful garden areas, some overlooking the sea, which provide stunning views creating a relaxed, close-to-nature setting. If you decide on having a beach wedding, then our breath-taking beach will not disappoint. Only a few meters from the resort, our beach is very private, and will be set up to your liking. A large outdoor gazebo is also available for both garden and beach wedding ceremonies if required.

    ACCOMMODATION

    We have 8 self-catering cabins available (5 & 6 sleepers) for your wedding guests.

    Bride and Groom – Complimentary accommodation for the night of the wedding in our sea view cabin. (Includes breakfast).

    Extra accommodation is available in the local area if required.
