DESCRIPTION

Leopard Lodge lies high up on a solid rock face in the Magaliesberg Mountains, a gorge rips straight into the rock. The gorge is softened only by a blanket of shrubs and trees which have grown over millennia, watered by the purest, cleanest water imaginable. The owners of this unique property have created a wonder in its midst – yes Leopard Lodge. It is only when one drives in the gate of Leopard Lodge that you realise what has been left behind. The mystique of the place is tangible. Following a designated trail higher and higher, under a thick canopy of trees, a strong feeling of peace will overwhelm you. Leopard Lodge is a haven for not only our bashful brides but for one and all.

The main building houses the reception rooms, restaurant, bar, conference rooms and large verandah. The lodge has a peaceful atmosphere and yet, situated near Hartbeespoort, it's just a short 55km drive from the hustle and bustle of Sandton and 60km from Pretoria.

This 248 hectare property abounds with bird life including the third largest breeding colony of the endangered Cape Griffon Vulture. Resident game includes Giraffe, Kudu, Blesbuck, Impala, Blue Wildebeest, Red Hartebeest, Bushbuck, Warthog, Nyala and Zebra. Leopards are very scarce but have been sighted occasionally, mainly at night.

At the end of day you cannot fail to be enchanted by Leopard Lodge whether darkness finds you swapping a tale or two around the boma fire, sipping a glass of port indoors or simply lying in bed listening to the ' orchestra of sounds' of the night

CHAPEL

Leopard Lodge offers several memorable settings in which to exchange your vows. Our newly completed open air thatched chapel is situated amongst the trees and bush within walking distance from the main lodge. Garden ceremonies usually take place on the large lawn area in front of the main lodge. Your friends and family will be able to enjoy the magnificent views of the Hartbeespoort Valley and the Magaliesberg Mountain range while witnessing the wedding ceremony.

ACCOMMODATION

As Leopard Lodge is a function venue, all our rooms are kept aside for our function guests for up to one month prior to check –in date. If rooms are not needed by our function guests they will be released and offered to other guests requiring accommodation in the area. We are not a holiday resort and therefore don’t have facilities for children such as playgrounds and tennis courts etc. There is a swimming pool at Khaya guesthouse and another at the main lodge that can be used if not booked for a private function. Leopard Lodge is situated in the bush. Our rooms don’t have TV’s and in order to conserve water our bathrooms all have showers and not baths. We recommend that you bring walking shoes, binoculars, mountain bikes, swimming towels and a good book to read. (To all the cyclists, Leopard Lodge is situated near to the Skeerpoort MTB trails so don’t forget to bring your mountain bikes along.
