DESCRIPTION
Oxwagon Lodge is a spesialiteitslodge (“specialty lodge”) and one of the most unusual party venues in South Africa. With spesialiteitslodge we mean that you sleep in an original Oxwagon. Each Oxwagon is fully restored, cute and cosy!
This is the ideal place for weddings, celebrations, conferences, reunions, Year End Functions, and for romantic weekend get-aways.
Amenities include a lapa, restaurant, braai area, dance floor, outdoor amphitheater and Conference Centre. Our party room near the pool has fantastic views of the Hartbeespoort Dam. Visit the Oxwagon Museum to understand the advanced technology of 100 years ago. Oxwagon Lodge also has a “cheap and cheerful” backpacker’s accommodation in a converted double-decker bus, with bunk beds. Bring your sense of humour!

Oxwagon Lodge can guarantee you a very memorable wedding in a unique and beautiful setting. The Lodge is located high up on the Witwatersberg mountainside, overlooking Hartbeespoort Dam, with excellent views. Our unique “ossewa” accommodation completes the perfect setting for a traditional yet simple wedding in a bushveld atmosphere.

Reception and Catering: Many options ranging from Spit-braai to Buffet to Bridal Picnic
Prices: Low venue fee with discounts for a midweek wedding. Please ask for a written quote and a site inspection tour.
ACCOMMODATION
Oxwagon Lodge has 6 original restored Oxwagons, that have been restored and converted to charming accommodation – perfect for families and couples to escape the Rat Race.
Each Oxwagon is cute and cosy. And simple. The main bedroom (double-bed) is inside the Oxwagon itself. Each Oxwagon also has an attached “Hartbeeshuisie” chalet that comprises a sitting room or second bedroom (single beds) plus a private bathroom with hot shower and flushing toilet.
Plus, we have electricity. So, really, it is quite modern for Voortrekkers. And … we have Free Wi-Fi. Wow, can you believe it?!
But take note – the only TV at Oxwagon Lodge is the “Voortrekker TV” in the Lapa.
Each Oxwagon has the same layout, but some are smaller and some are larger. The smallest Oxwagon is the “Felix Lategan” (sleeps 2), the largest is the “Bert Joubert” (sleeps 6). We allocate accommodation according to the practical principle of Best-Fit. In total, all the Oxwagons can sleep 26 people.
NB. If you need extra accommodation for a large group, then ask us about the Upper Bus – a converted Double-decker Bus with bunk beds! Cheap-and-cheerful, but entertaining
