– a photographer’s dream to capture the special moments for the bride and groom to treasure! The charming Karoo Wedding Chapel is situated on the edge of a natural water hole with a wide wooden deck as entrance to the intimate little chapel.

The wedding venue in Oudtshoorn is ideal for romantic country weddings and a dream come true for those who prefer natural surroundings and tranquility  The deck is an extension to the restaurant and this creates a beautiful space for wedding guests to take their seats and witness the couple exchanging their wedding vows.

Ice-cold sundowners served on the lookout deck next to the open-air bar mark the end of a perfect day with the sun setting over the mountains. Each wedding is unique and we make each one an unforgettable experience for both you and your guests.

OUTDOOR FUNCTIONS AT OUR ELEPHANT LAPA

Buffelsdrift Game Lodge is situated along the Garden Route in the Klein Karoo within a unique bushveld environment. The Lodge and Restaurant are situated next to the waterhole, with luxurious tented accommodation also laid out alongside the wall. This setup provides our guests with a true bushveld experience.

Adding an Elephant Lapa to the mix ensures an even greater bushveld experience with facilities catering for traditional South African braai’s beneath the brilliant Klein Karoo night skyline. The Elephant Lapa is a thatched roofed construction with smooth cement flooring and an open bar area. The rock finished exterior provides a rugged, earthy feel which blends effortlessly into the natural surroundings.

A permanent view of the picturesque Swartberg Mountains and the Klein Karoo bushveld while enjoying refreshing sundowners is enough to transform any ordinary day into an exhilarating natural breakaway.

The Elephant Lapa will be available for outdoor functions, traditional South African braai’s, Elephant Weddings and corporate breakaways. The area beneath the thatched roof is 40m2  while the patio stretches over a spacious 70m2. It will accommodate between 50 and 70 guests, perfect for a ‘lekker’ social gathering with true local flair.
