Nestled secretively in a valley lush with vineyards, forests, abundant water and ancient oak trees, lies Langverwagt, a historic working farm. It is not far from Cape Town, boasting spectacular views of Table Mountain.
Langverwagt (also historically known as Lang Verwacht and Langverwacht) is a place of quiet charm and famed elegance, ideally suited for the weary traveller, businessperson or tourist. It is also well known for hosting exclusive and memorable weddings.
Although essentially a country residence situated in the Cape wine country, this proud establishment is close to Cape Town and it’s international airport, all major highways and some of the finest and most modern amenities and sports facilities.
Several exclusive as well as popular and family style restaurants are within easy reach, as are a range of international standard leisure locations including a casino, famous wine farms and theme parks. The Cape’s unspoilt beaches, towering mountains and rugged coastline, from Cape Point to the top of Table Mountain are an easy drive away, so too, Cape Town’s Victoria and Alfred Waterfront.

RECEPTION HALL
For the larger sit-down function, Langverwagt’s historic (circa 1800) wine cellar has a great deal to offer. Seating 150 guests comfortably, it’s quiet ambience and distinctive character-filled space is often used for celebrations of all kinds. There is a comfortable, elegant lounge and bar adjacent to the cellar; the building is surrounded by leafy forest and garden.
A secluded, sylvan ceremony may be held at the gazebo where tall trees bear quiet witness to the bestowing of hearts.
The farm gardens and architecture are idyllic settings for romantic photography.
ACCOMMODATION
JACOB and LOTJIE
Located within the historic walls of the oldest building on the farm, these two elegant, spacious and very comfortable self-contained units contain many of the building’s original features, dating back to 1740. They are named after the last two slaves to live and work on Langverwagt.
Each has its own secure parking, a private entrance, separate en-suite facilities and spacious, superbly arranged and outfitted rooms (including bedroom, bathroom and lounge), a handy, fully-equipped kitchenette and coffee/tea facilities and DSTV.
Each morning, a sumptuous, farm breakfast is served within view of the splendid garden.
