    Post House Wines

    DESCRIPTION

    There is no single activity which results in a great wine, but rather a combination of activities which add up to something great and unique.

    One of these steps is in essence a conscious step back by  interfering as little as possible in the creation of the wine making process and incorporating  traditional wine making methods. This includes natural yeast fermentation, basket pressing and no fining or filtering.

    Hermann Gebers bought the farm in 1981 in the picturesque area between the towns of Somerset West and Stellenbosch. Situated on a ridge, the winery offers panoramic views of Cape Point, False Bay and the surrounding Helderberg Mountains.

    As the Homestead had originally operated as the Helderberg  Post Office in the early 1900s, it was a logical step to associate the wine with its postal origin. The winery was thus named Post House.

    Our main venue is the latest addition to Post House.

    A gorgeous location with picturesque views of vineyards, the Helderberg mountain and False Bay exudes charm in a rustic country setting. Only 30 minutes drive from Cape Town on a working farm, Post House is the perfect venue for weddings and functions with its delightful cellar atmosphere.

    This spacious venue offers an old world feel with rustic doors, stained glass windows, a high ceiling and chandeliers. The vintage interiors are authentic, comfortable and picturesque. We can accommodate up to 150 guests, yet is intimate enough for smaller occasions.

    As we will only ever have one function or event at a time at Post House, you can count on our absolute support, assistance & exclusivity. You can dress the venue up as you please, and take full advantage of the creative space.

    Venue Hire:

    Function/reception – R10 000

    Wedding including ceremony, pre-dinks area and reception – R15 000

    Ceremony only – R3000

    No corkage on champagne

    Tables, table cloths, chairs, chair covers in black or white seating 10 at a table for up to 80 guests. R30 per head over 80 guests.

    All other services, including catering, will be outsourced. We can provide you with a list of our preferred service providers at the time of booking.

    Ample parking close to the venue is available as well as a front door drop-and-go area.
