DESCRIPTION

Antbear lodge offers meals that are special. We source as much as possible form our own organic garden. We have our own chickens for eggs, cows for milk, we bake our own bread and even make our own cheese.

The Lodge is one of those places where pets are welcome. We offer 2 units that are fenced in so even if you went out without your dog it will be safe and sound. Go for long walks on the farm and we dont even require that you have your dog on a lead.

RECEPTION HALL

Our reception hall can accommodate up to 100 guests. This wedding venue is a particularly lovely space for smaller weddings. If you would like to drape and have fairy lights that can easily be arranged although the lodge already has a lovely earthy character that most people don’t even worry about the extra costs of draping. Our wooden chandeliers with real candles offer that touch of romance to the atmosphere.

CHAPEL

Our beautiful thatched chapel is in close proximity to the main venue. The Chapel has panoramic views of the Drakensberg and really requires very little decor but small touches can be added to the bridal parties discretion. The Chapel can accommodate 100 guests, and includes pots for flowers, central lighting, registry table and an altar table. With fairy lights our Chapel is a picture perfect setting for our Bride and Groom to make their vows and their special day a flawless occasion with the backdrop of farm lands, blue skies, lush green gardens for that picture perfect moment. Fantastic, unlimited bridal couple photographic opportunities – African farmlands, dam, horses and farm animals in a perfect Drakensberg wedding setting. And its the views that really make this Drakensberg wedding venue so special.

ACCOMMODATION

Luxury Cave

he luxury cave certainly offers something unique. This luxury cave accommodation unit is built under a rock. Glass doors open on to a deck with hammock chairs and an uninterrupted panoramic view of more than of the Drakensberg Mountains. This is an upmarket Eco experience. The cave is cozy and comfortable and has features like a rocked in Jacuzzi spa bath in the bedroom and an adjoining a lounge with open fireplace.

Mountain View

The Mountain View Suites are mountain facing and are the more generous accommodation options offered at Antbear Lodge. These suites include a spacious lounge, a large bedroom with a king size bed an en suite bathroom and a veranda to relax. The suites include a wood burning fireplace.

Garden view

The garden suites feature a spacious bedroom with a queen size bed with a lounge area and en-suite bathroom. Some units even have Jacuzzi spa baths and separate showers while others just have a shower. The rooms include a wood burning fireplace. Each unit features an individual covered patio that looks out onto a private garden.

Eco style bathrooms
This en-suite double even has a jacuzzi spa bath. The lounge is part of the bedroom and contains an open wood burning fireplace. With a small loft above the bedroom with 2 single beds for your 2 children and lovely view of the weaver bird nests in the Jacaranda tree.
